Carlo Ruiz on eight months at our Latin America hub

“Eight months in at elea, and the experience has been anything but ordinary.

Based in Mexico City and focused on Latin America, these months have been a mix of sourcing opportunities across the region, diving deep into due diligence processes, and collaborating with colleagues across continents. Every week brings a new angle on what it means to invest with purpose.

But what has stood out the most is the people. From entrepreneurs building businesses that change the lives of people affected by poverty to colleagues across the globe who bring an extraordinary mix of rigor and heart to this work, the relationships built in these eight months are what make this role truly meaningful.

The world is full of founders tackling hard problems in hard places. Being part of that ecosystem from our Latin America hub, connecting across the region and beyond, and contributing to elea’s mission from here feels like a privilege.

I’m grateful for the journey so far and look forward to what comes next.”
